The recorder's rear mics, featured in this file, are facing away from the street into the sidewalk at a right angle at a height of approx. 60 cm. Traffic is passing in both directions, about 1 min. Into the recording, a bus stops and continues onward. Recording was conducted with a zoom h2. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Here we hear a german public bus approaching a snow-covered stop from the right, stop, and continue shortly thereafter. The engine is a prominent part of the recording. Towards the end, a second public bus passes in front of the mic in the opposite direction before the first one continues to the left towards the next stop.

Recorded with a roland r-05. I placed it under my pickup truck on a very rainy day. The sound of rainfall has a little bit of a metallic sound as the rain hits my truck. There is also a river-flowing kind of sound as this street floods in heavy rain, and the water runs from the street into a storm drain right beside my driveway. Various vehicles occasionally pass by.

You will hear the first construction site that i walked by that has the circular sawing. Then i walked past it and sat down for the majority of the recording where you can hear the second construction site that is about a short-block away and that's where all the hammering is coming from. Whilst sitting outside a starbucks in hollywood, ca, i took notice of a man talking/arguing to a half-empty bottle of coca-cola. What ensued was about 26 minutes of stream-of-consciousness homeless speak. Some of the more coherent passages were about gambling debts in reno, nv. I'm still wrestling with the morality of recording these kinds of things.
